Doh! I need to get some more coffee/tea mugs for the house, apparently. I just boiled some water for some Yerba Mate, only to find that all of my coffee mugs were in the load of the dishwasher I had just started.

I have the opposite problem. If everything is clean, there isn't enough room in the cabinet for them all.
I have 4 mugs, which is usually fine. However, I had company over a few times this week and there was tea drinking.
I guess, I have enough mugs for a single guy who doesn't have company visit. Since I want company to visit, I guess I need more mugs. :)

Dollar store.
Ask around -- if you don't care if they don't match, I bet you can get some for free. Mugs are one of those things that seems to breed behind closed cupboard doors, like hangers and dried-up ballpoint pens.
I second the dollar store option. You can often find giant mugs there, which is what I prefer!
Goodwill! The dollar store I checked had "Carcinogen in state of CA" labels on all their ceramics... Lead glaze, I suppose. Goodwill/Salvation Army gets you mugs that may have stories attached.

Wow, that's scary!
I second the goodwill. And Mjen's idea too. That Value World on Ford Rd between 275 and ... Telegraph has nicer stuff than most, too.
I should clean out our mugs, get rid of the chipped ones, and see if we don't have any for you. We've got mug overload because I keep sentimental stuff (mugs from when we were first married, mugs from his jobs, mugs that came at christmas with chocolates in them). |
